Recently we have had several members call to tell us about attempts being made to steal their personal information by fraudsters, specifically their credit card or debit card information. These members are reporting that they are getting a phone call informing them that their “card has been blocked”.
Remember, the Credit Union (and any other legitimate organization) will never call and ask you to provide personal identifying information.
Do not trust text messages, emails or direct telephone calls from persons unknown to you especially if they request personal information from you. Use telephone numbers from your institution’s website, literature or statements. NEVER call a telephone number provided by unknown persons.
