If a student and his/her family (parents, spouse) need help to pay college expenses, he/she should apply for financial aid. The student applies through the school's financial aid office and the money is disbursed by the financial aid office. We will give the okay for the funding to take place when the membership account is opened. There is no charge for filing an application. All of the information submitted on the application form is confidential and released only to the financial aid offices at the campuses the student lists on the form.

Any student can apply from any school. To use the Credit Union,
list us as the preferred lender and use our lender code #830146.

Any student who wants to apply for financial aid must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Check with your financial aid office for details. You can apply for the FAFSA online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov Apply as soon as you can on or AFTER January 1, 2003. Students who complete and return the FAFSA by March 15 have the best chance of receiving so-called campus based financial aid. If you apply for state and federal aid between January and April, you should be notified of your award(s) during the late spring or early summer.

The financial aid administrator at each school you are interested in can tell you what aid programs are available at the school and how much the total cost of attendance will be. Make sure you know your school’s deadlines so you won’t miss out on any aid. The school's financial aid office develops your financial aid package according to government guidelines and regulations and depends on the availability of funds.

Borrowing Is a Responsibility — Take It Seriously!

Consider this responsibility seriously - your ability to borrow in the future depends on it. Make sure you read and understand the terms and conditions on your promissory note. You are agreeing to repay the loan with all accrued and capitalized interest and deducted fees. You are obligated to repay your loan regardless whether you complete your education, are satisfied with your education, or are able to find a job. Read and keep all records relating to your loan.
