USU Charter Credit Union is a Federal Credit Union
owned by its Members and run by a Board of Directors you elect. You
can be confident that your financial privacy is a top priority of
the Credit Union. We are required by law to give you this privacy
notice to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal

Nonpublic Personal Information We Collect About You
We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following
sources:
- Information we receive from you on applications,
e-mail, or other forms;
- Information about your transactions with us, our
affiliate (CSI Financial), or others;
- Information we receive from consumer reporting
agencies;
- Information obtained when verifying the information
you provide on an application or other forms, such as from your
current or past employers, from other institutions where you conduct
financial transactions and other sources listed on the application
or other forms;
- Information we receive from government agencies
such as the Department of Motor Vehicles; and
- Information we may obtain from census data and
consumer purchasing providers to develop competitive marketing
programs for our members.
Nonpublic Personal Information We May Disclose About
You to Other Financial Service Providers / Fair Credit Reporting Act
Disclosure
As permitted by law, we may disclose your name, address, telephone
number, and date of birth to companies that perform marketing services
on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have
joint marketing agreements. This is to provide you with additional
products and services which meet your financial needs. We may also
disclose nonpublic personal information about you and other information
about our transactions and experiences with you to our affiliate,
CSI Financial. Information taken from credit reports will not be exchanged
without your authorization.
Additional Nonpublic Personal Information We May Disclose About
You to Third Parties Who Help Us Service Your Credit Union Accounts
We may disclose additional nonpublic personal information about you
to process transactions on your behalf, to conduct the operations
of USUCCU, to follow your instructions as you authorize, or to protect
the security of our financial records. Such disclosures are typically
made to: CSI Financial and insurance companies. Financial service
providers such as credit reporting agencies, other financial institutions,
personal property appraisers, real estate appraisers, digital signature
services, courier services, real estate settlement services, title
companies, collection companies, check suppliers, check reporting
systems, ATM suppliers, credit card suppliers, statement printing
and mailing services and vendors of the Credit Union's internal data
processing software and hardware. We may also disclose information
about you under other circumstances as permitted or required by law.
To protect your privacy, we only work with companies that agree to
maintain strong confidentiality protections and limit the use of information
we provide. We do not permit these companies to sell to other third
parties the information we provide.
If you terminate your membership with USU Charter Credit Union,
we will not share information we have collected about you, except
as permitted or required by law.
How We Protect Your Information
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to
those employees who need to know that information to provide products
or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural
safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic
personal information.
What You Can Do to Help Protect Your Privacy
USU Charter Credit Union is committed to protecting the privacy
of its Members. Members can help by following these simple guidelines:
- Protect your account numbers, card numbers, PINs
(personal identification numbers) and passwords. Never keep your
PIN with your debit or credit card which can provide free access
to your accounts if your card is lost or stolen.
- Use caution when disclosing your account numbers,
social security numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls
you and says they're from the Credit Union and asks for your account
number, do not give it to them. Bonafide Credit Union staff already
have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.
- Keep information current on how the Credit Union
can reach you. If we detect potentially fraudulent or unauthorized
activity or use of an account, we will attempt to contact you
immediately. If your address or phone number changes, please let
us know.

Web Site and Web Teller Security
- Accuracy of Personal Information
The Credit Union intends to exercise reasonable procedures
in order to assure the accuracy of our records and your personal information.
Inaccurate information, when brought to our attention, will be corrected
as promptly as possible. If you have any questions regarding the accuracy
of your personal information, please contact a Credit Union representative
by phone at 435-753-4080, by email at info@usuccu.org,
or visit us at one of our offices located at 695 East 1000 North or
198 North Main, Logan, UT 84321. We will investigate your issue and
update your records as needed. We request that you keep your personal
information as current as possible so that you may get the maximum
benefit from the Credit Union. In particular, please make sure that
you inform us of any mailing address, phone number, or email address
change so that we may communicate with you.
- Protection of Personal Information
The Credit Union uses multiple levels of security; beginning
with your browser and ending with the Credit Union's operating system
that acts as a virtual information vault inside the Credit Union.
We can receive your secured information via online applications utilizing
Web page encryption security as directed in the encryption secured
form instructions and required industry standard Secure Socket Layer
encrypted browsers. Our Web Site is a VeriSign secure site, the leading
provider of Internet trust services. You can review our security certification
by clicking on the VeriSign logo on our home page.
For the security of your account information through
Web Teller, your account number and access code must be entered correctly.
Access to Web Teller is "locked out" if an incorrect account
number and password combination are entered three times. The account
can be unlocked by contacting the Credit Union. If anyone besides
you attempted to access your account, you should immediately notify
us and change your access code (password).
When you connect to our Web Site, the Credit Union collects
non-personal information that does not identify you. This information
is used to help us monitor and improve our Web Site. Non-personal
information we collect may include but is not limited to: (a) the
pages you have visited on our Web Site, (b) the services provided
on our Web Site you have used, and (c) the time and date you visited
our Web Site.
In order to access Web Teller you must have 'cookies'
enabled in your browser. Information stored in 'cookies' helps us
to serve you better and is used to protect your account security when
using Web Teller. No personal information is collected by the Credit
Union with 'cookies.' You can set your browser to warn you if a 'cookie'
is requested and decide whether or not to accept it. However, you
will not be able to use Web Teller if you choose not to accept 'cookies.'
If you wish, you can also view the contents of and/or delete the 'cookies'
file stored on your hard drive.
Protecting your privacy is an ongoing process. USU Charter Credit
Union is confident that we have taken all necessary security precautions
to ensure that access to our Web and email account services are secure
and that your account information continues to remain confidential.
We will continue to review the measures we take to safeguard your
personal information. These reviews will result in new measures to
protect member records as the Credit Union makes changes to its information
security practices and other internal control systems to take advantage
of new technology.
- You are also responsible for helping to protect
the security of your accounts by:
Never share your password (PIN) with anyone or keeping
it in a wallet or purse. This is your best protection against unauthorized
access to your accounts. No one from USU Charter Credit Union will
ever ask you for the passwords (PINs) for your accounts. The exception
is when you choose to sign up for email statements through eBenefits
you must provide us with a password.
You should change your password on a regular basis. Immediately change
your password and contact the Credit Union if you think that your
password may have been compromised. Never leave your password as the
last four digits of your social security number. A password should
use a combination of letters and numbers that cannot be linked back
to you. And, it's best not to use any word that could be found in
a dictionary.
Never leave your computer when you have Web Teller or your electronic
statement visible. Log off of Web Teller after each use. Be sure to
clear your browser's cache by closing the browser down or by following
the instructions for the browser after each session so no one can
view the account pages you have visited.
