Health Savings Accounts (HSAs)
An HSA is an interest-bearing account set up through the credit union that allows you to use tax-exempt contributions to pay for qualified medical expenses. USU Charter Credit Union offers HSAs to offset the rising costs of medical care for employers and individuals who have high-deductible health plans (HDHPs). While an HDHP features more affordable monthly premiums, high deductibles for unexpected treatment can put a family or individual outside of their budget. Our HSAs offer a healthy return on investment and are as easy to use as a checking account. What’s more, you won’t pay administrative or setup fees.
So, how do you know if you qualify for an HSA? If the annual deductible on your current health plan is $1,200 or more for self-only coverage and $2,400 for family coverage, you may qualify. Contact our Member Care Center or visit one of our branches to and we’ll help you determine your options.
